What is the difference between Class Suggestions and Class Eligibility?

Some studios prefer to suggest classes to their students but still allow them to select other classes. In this case, Class Suggestions would be a great option. Other studios prefer to select who is eligible for certain classes, to restrict enrollment to specific students only. In this case, Class Eligibility would be a great option.

Class Suggestions

To begin, go to the main Students page and pick the student.  Then click Classes in the left menu.  To highlight a class in online registration for this student, check the box in the Suggest column for the classes you would like them to take.

 

When the student is registering online, those classes will be highlighted.

 

If you would like to change the color the system uses to highlight the classes, go to More > Settings and click Portal Settings in the left menu.  You can then select a color in the Suggested Class Color dropdown.

 

Class Eligibility

Eligible students can be set up on a class-by-class basis. Using this feature, you can set which students are allowed to register for a class online. If this list within a class is blank, all students can register. If you add students to the Eligible list within the class, then only those students on the list can register. 

To begin, click on the Classes page and select the Class. Then click Registration in the left menu.

From there, you can tick the checkbox next to any student that is eligible for that class and click Save Changes.
